The strength of our name lies in the quality and resources of our production capabilities. We have over 160 production plants operating in 28 countries all over the globe. In Germany alone, we employ 60,000 people, at 29 production sites, working on the development, production and rigorous testing of Bosch Automotive components. Closer to home, we only employed a handful of people when we first opened our London branch in 1898. Today, nearly 2,000 employees are involved in our automotive business in Great Britain - a figure that looks set to rise.

In 1991, we began producing alternators at our Cardiff plant in South Wales. Today, over 30 million alternators later, we have expanded into manufacturing the latest water-cooled units and over eight different model ranges of our 14-volt compact alternators. Such is the standard attained by this site, that we have won 24 Awards for quality from the automotive industry.
